What do not-for-profit CEOs get paid?

According to this year’s results, the base salary for CEOs in Australia’s not-for-profit sector is seven per cent higher than the previous year. This seems to be in keeping with the long-term trend as the average base salary of not-for-profit CEOs has generally increased over the past ten years.

Our data also uncovers the sorts of incentives that CEOs receive for their work. Phone allowances are the most common, but the data shows that not all CEOs receive bonuses or incentives.

Who is featured in the Salary Survey?

The CEO results featured in this year’s Salary Survey are based on cases, across a variety of sectors including Aboriginal/Indigenous, Arts and Culture, Environment and Disability. The responses are also drawn from a wide range of organisations by size and location.

With such a wide variety of responses recorded, the Survey allows you to benchmark your CEO’s salary according to several factors, including annual operating budget, location and number of employees. This means you can find the most accurate match for your salary benchmarking activities. It is important to take all these factors into account when setting your organisation’s salaries, bonuses and incentives in order to achieve accurate results.
